Baking on Sundays: French Bread with Brie & Sliced Pears

This past Sunday, I made a delicious and simple French bread.

Ingredient list:

-Bread flour
-Active dry yeast
-Cornmeal for dusting
-Glaze: 1 egg and 1 TBLS of water

I don't own a bread machine, so I had to knead this for a while. I thought it would be an arduous task, but it wasn't. It took about 2 hours to make this bread.

I can't believe how great this turned out! It was my first time making bread.

I put some some double brie on top on the warm bread, and sliced up some organic pears. Cheese and bread seem like a simple breakfast, but when it's freshly baked bread, it's spectacular. :)
